Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Corpus Christi TX

Issued at 1140pm CST Fri Nov 14 2025

We'll continue with above normal temperatures, with the possibility that we could even approach record high temperatures across the Coastal Plains early next week. Currently, forecast temperatures are just shy of record temperatures with highs in the mid 80s to low 90s. Temperatures will be a few degrees cooler by the middle of the week, as a clouds develop ahead of and along a cold front that is expected to approach and move through South Texas Wednesday through Thursday.

There is still a lot of uncertainty in the evolution of this cold front (will it make it this far? will it really rain? could there be some stronger storms?), so we will continue to monitor and adjust the forecast as needed. Guidance currently hints that the cold front will approach South Texas by Wednesday with low (20-40%) chance of showers and thunderstorms possible across the northern Coastal Plains and Victoria Crossroads. By Thursday, these chances will increase to medium (40-60%) across the Coastal Plains and a low (20-40%) chance of showers and thunderstorms will move in over the Brush Country. There is a low potential that some storms could be strong.

A south to southeast moderate (BF 4) breeze will persist through the weekend before increasing to a moderate to fresh (BF 4-5) breeze Monday night. A cold front will approach the area Wednesday, increasing winds to fresh to strong Wednesday through Thursday. A Small Craft Advisory may be necessary. Winds will diminish to a moderate to fresh (BF 4-5) breeze and shift to the northwest Thursday night, then to the north to northeast Friday.

Fire Weather
Issued at 1140pm CST Fri Nov 14 2025

Light winds and continuing moisture advection will help limit fire weather concerns across South Texas. High ERC values and dry fuels are still in place, so caution is urged around any sparks or open flames. The next chance for rain will be the middle of next week as a cold front approaches South Texas.
